- Type: Reservoir waterproofing
- Location: Villeneuve-la-Garenne, France
- Area: 16,000 m²
- Product: COLETANCHE XP3
The Hautes Bornes pond is located in the Chanteraines park between the towns of Gennevilliers and Villeneuve. The Hauts-de-Seine general council had asked Coletanche handle the reservoir’s first waterproofing 37 years earlier! Satisfied with that geomembrane’s durability and longevity, the customer asked us to renovate the reservoir again.
This project represented four years of work with the Hauts-de-Seine general council and an engineering firm. Because our product was preferred from the start, we had a clear advantage. We were economically well-positioned compared to polymeric membranes (no need for geotextiles under the membrane).
A geomembrane other than bitumen would have been less obvious and, above all, more difficult to install (gabions, attachment to concrete walls, HDPE expansion, etc.). Without anchoring trenches, the Coletanche XP3 was weighted by gabions or welded and attached to a concrete wall.
Cleaning and earthworks started in 2019. Waterproofing started in June 2020 and was completed by the end of August 2021.
H2O installed 16,000 m² of COLETANCHE, i.e. approximately 40 rolls.
The advantage of using Coletanche on this project were:
- Its low cost compared to other solutions,
- Its durability and longevity,
- Its flexibility,
- Its stability,
- No need for anchored trenches.
